Denton’s inspirational pop-gaze trio Pageantry is proud to announce the release of “Friends of the Year” the groups first official EP. The 4 song album will be available on Bandcamp, iTunes, Amazon and streaming on Spotify with physical copies available at all DFW independent record stores.

The official EP release show will be held at Dan’s Silverleaf in Denton on June 14th with Pageantry featuring special guests Chambers, Good Field and Senor Fin $5/7.

EP Bio

“Friends of the Year” was recorded in the summer/fall of 2012 in various houses in and around Denton. Tracked and mixed by singer/guitarist Roy Robertson, with Ramon Muzquiz on drums and percussion and Pablo Burrull on bass the EP was mastered by Matt Pence at Echo Labs in Denton.
The EP’s subject matter and aural textures sway vastly throughout the 18 minute long recording but return to what is perhaps the defining element of Pageantry as a band: its desire to create a holistic experience. From dread to glee, sarcasm to earnestness, apologies to accusations and everything in between, Pageantry attempts to capture the ephemeral moments of life through words and music.

Band Bio

Roy, Ramon and Pablo met through the Denton music scene with all three members performing in various bands that played together from time to time. It wasn’t until after Roy recorded an unreleased solo record with Ramon on drums that the two began a friendship which turned into a collaboration that eventually led to the formation of a new project. Pablo was immediately added to lineup and Pageantry was officially born in May 2012. The group has since toured the region extensively from Oklahoma City to Austin and Houston as well as the entire DFW metroplex including an official showcase at 2013’s 35 Denton.
